September Weed Management— 2023

The month of September was the CVA Field Team’s last full month of noxious weed management in the Centennial Valley. The Field Team monitored and treated 35-acres of documented invasive weed infestations in the Centennial Valley, and put on quite a few miles to access some areas! This included 5-acres treated in the Goose Fire area and ~14-acres of thistle treatments (Fall is a great time of year to make a big impact on thistle populations!!).

CVA manages invasive weeds in hopes to continually improve the landscape that we hold dear for future generations of people, traditional livelihoods, and wildlife. As the cooler weather is starting to stick around, the Field Crew is making a final push during the first two weeks of October to manage the invasive weeds in WHIP areas, especially with seed head removals.
