Centennial Mountain Snow

On June 1st, Refuge staff checked their mountain camera traps. In the Centennial Mountains, between Lakeview and Tom Creek at 7300-8000 feet, snow was still holding on! There was 2-4.5 feet of snow on the north and eastern slopes that are shaded from the sun. The SNOTEL site at Lakeview receives a lot of sunlight, so it reports differently than what may be happening in other portions of the Centennial Mountains. Thank you to Cortez Rohr, Deputy Refuge Manager, for the information!
